About Crestwell

Where Curiosity Meets Purpose

Crestwell School is an independent PreK-8 school nestled on 6.5 acres in Southwest Florida. Since 1994, we have believed that the best learning happens when students do, create, and discover. Our small class sizes, STEM-focused curriculum, and hands-on approach ensure every child is known, challenged, and prepared to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Mission

We cultivate curious, confident learners by connecting challenging academics with real-world experiences. Through hands-on discovery and intentional character development, we prepare students not just for the next grade, but for a life of purpose and impact.

Vision

We envision graduates who are creative problem-solvers, compassionate leaders, and lifelong learners: young people who ask bold questions, embrace challenges, and have the courage to shape their world for the better.

Our Educational Philosophy

We believe education should be active, meaningful, and connected to the world beyond the classroom.

Experiential Learning

Students learn best by doing. Our project-based curriculum transforms concepts into tangible experiences that stick.

Whole-Child Development

Academic excellence is only part of the picture. We nurture curiosity, character, creativity, and confidence in equal measure.

Community & Belonging

Every child is known by name. Our close-knit environment fosters lasting relationships and personalized attention for each student.

Our CARING Values

These six principles guide how we teach, learn, and grow together as a community.

C

Collaborative

We work together as a community, partnering with families and colleagues to support every child's success.

A

Accountable

We take responsibility for our actions, commitments, and the outcomes we deliver for our students.

R

Resourceful

We find creative solutions and make the most of every opportunity to enhance learning experiences.

I

Innovative

We embrace new ideas and approaches to continuously improve how we educate and inspire students.

N

Nurturing

We create a warm, supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to grow.

G

Growth Mindset

We believe in the power of effort and persistence, teaching students that abilities can be developed.

Character Education The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Students

At the heart of our approach to character development is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Students. This framework gives students practical tools to become proactive leaders who take initiative, set meaningful goals, and work effectively with others.

This character education is built into our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum throughout the year. From PreK through 8th grade, students learn to apply these habits in the classroom, at home, and in their communities. Each month, we take joy in recognizing students who represent these values in an exemplary way through our Character Awards Ceremony.

Habit 1
Be Proactive
Students take initiative without being asked—volunteering to help, solving problems independently, and owning their choices.
Habit 2
Begin with the End in Mind
Students set goals for projects and assignments, envisioning what success looks like before they begin.
Habit 3
Put First Things First
Students learn to prioritize homework before play, manage their time, and focus on what matters most.
Habit 4
Think Win-Win
Students seek solutions where everyone benefits, resolving conflicts fairly and celebrating others' successes.
Habit 5
Seek First to Understand
Students practice active listening, asking questions, and considering others' perspectives before sharing their own.
Habit 6
Synergize
Students collaborate on group projects, valuing diverse ideas and creating something better together than alone.
Habit 7
Sharpen the Saw
Students balance academics with physical activity, creativity, and rest to stay healthy in body and mind.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
